Nope, just protective of the durability of her minifigs.

Plastik Armory: a bunch of weapons and abilities compatible with the 2010 rules.

You're saying this like you've never attempted to do so before.

I'm sorry, but I don't trust myself when it comes to craft-work...

Just because it requires a decent amount of force doesn't mean you aren't intended to do it.

Re: 2012 sets (EDIT IN OP 2-10-2012)
doing it repeatedly will break them eventually. but your good for a few switches
Re: 2012 sets (EDIT IN OP 2-10-2012)
I usually only do it with by regular colored arms that I have tons of, anyway. I wouldn't do it as often with printed legs, hips, and arms.
Re: 2012 sets (EDIT IN OP 2-10-2012)
When I was a kid, minifig torsos and hips would crack the first time you tried to switch limbs. They're a lot more resilient nowadays. You've just got to be careful with older minifigs, they break a hip and that's it.

Re: 2012 sets (EDIT IN OP 2-10-2012)
Yeah, my cousin gave me a few of the original DSM from back in like the early 80s and if you switch their arms with a "modern" fig they swing around like crazy and won't stay in one place. I may have already cracked the torso on one of them. Newer figs are a bit better about this.
Re: 2012 sets (EDIT IN OP 2-10-2012)
My kids are constantly pulling arms off... and hands... and heads... and legs... I haven't noticed a single one cracked, broken, or 'worn out'. They haven't been swapping legs off of hips much, I think mostly because my daughter hasn't yet realized you can? Pretty sure she's the main culprit when it comes ti amputating and swapping of appendages. I've been swapping legs and arms since the 80s.... Stubby's analysis is spot on; the older figs were more prone to cracking the torso in the armpit area and the wrist. Haven't seen this happen at all with my newer figs from the 2000's Actually it rarely even happened with my older figures. As much as I did it back then I only remember a few minifigures that cracked. I've had a couple of newer figures crack at the wrist when swapping hands; Yoda key chain and one of my sand people.
Re: 2012 sets (EDIT IN OP 2-10-2012)
I do it constantly and have only snapped a wrist and broken a hip. Some of my older pieces are loose, but that's about it.

Re: 2012 sets (EDIT IN OP 2-10-2012)
They have pictures, pieces and price points for Marvel, Star Wars, and LoTR over at http://www.fbtb.net/. Some of these hit the golden ratio and others are waaaaaay off. I really hope these aren't the final prices. Weathertop has 430pcs for $60? The Gungan Sub is just as bad. And Jabba's Palace is 700 some pcs. for $120?
Meanwhile the Desert Skiff seems okay at 203 for $25 and Tiin's fighter is 244 for $30. Sad that these are the reasonable prices these days...
Also to weigh in on the switching arms/legs on minifigs I got the SW 7163 Republic Gunship and the 4482 AT-TE for Manly Santa Day in 2003 (best Skaturnalia ever for a 12 year old kid!) and I destroyed those 8 clone troopers. I tore off arms and legs when they fought my battle droids (also destroyed). I still have them all today but all the arm joints are wobbly and a few have some semi-serious cracks on them. Anymore I'll still take off an arm and replace it or make some custom figs but I am much more careful with it than I was before.
