New Scenario

Another season-appropriate Brikwars scenario: Election Year!
(Note: This isn't slanted towards one party or the other, although you can certainly play it that way if you want).
Battlefield: A large Town layout with about eight strategically located capture points. If a minifig comes near a neutral capture point, he can use an Action to shift it to his side. If a minifig comes near an enemy capture point, he can use an Action to shift it to neutral. Ordinary civilians are walking or driving around the town. The battle has a limit of 10-12 rounds.
Forces:
The Red and Blue parties -- two 500cp forces led by a Candidate who is a Champion and a Running Mate who is a Hero. The Red and Blue teams' primary objectives are to take control of the capture points, since any civilian who comes within 6" of a capture point (or 3" of the Candidate or 2" of the Running Mate) will automatically support that party. (Keep track of which candidate is supporting which party through colored pips on their stands.) Of course they're also trying to slaughter each other, since every soldier still alive at the end of the game will vote for his party. Whichever party has the most votes at the end of the game wins. If one major party is killed off, the other one wins.
There is also a Third Party (200-300cp) led by a Candidate who is a Hero. At the beginning of the game, the Third Party player picks a single pet cause (reduce carbon emissions, deport illegal immigrants, etc.) and then figures out a way to accomplish that cause. For instance, if your goal is to reduce carbon emissions you can go around destroying vehicles. However, the method of accomplishing your goal doesn't need to be related to what the goal is.
Finally, of course, you have the Press (500cp). Their job is to poll random civilians and soldiers to see who is going to win the election. They are equipped with microphones (same stats as knives) cameras (same stats as pistols, can be upgraded to rifle stats with a 1cp telephoto lens) and video cameras (same stats as miniguns/rocket launchers). Answering an interview takes up an Action, so most soldiers won't want to let the Press near them. If the Press successfully predicts the winner of the election, they win the game even if they're all dead. They can ONLY predict the winner by polling individual minifigs, not by looking at the big picture or analyzing trends.
The Civilians include about ten Abnormal People who hate politics so much that they will attack any soldier or reporter that gets close.

oh man. i actually have to (get to) vote this year, and i may or may not use a similar system to choose who i vote for.

although to be fair, i don't think i'll be voting for grandpa mccain :/

OBAMA/BIDEN '08

Ya, this sounds like a fun scenario but its a bit complicated for my tastes.
aslo some questions: can press, have a bius towards one party(FOX news sure does)

p.s: anyone who wants a nice fil of pollitics go watch the daily show and the Colbert Report (silent Ts no colberT reporTs)

Hmmm, I wonder how horribly wrong this could all go if I began violently supporting McCain. Honestly though, either candidate is bad, and Obama is definitely better than Hilary. But when it comes between McCain and Obama, I say vote for the lesser of two evils.

Still, McCain could drop dead any minute. Ah well.

Politics, nothing more Brikwarsy and bloody than that. LoL

A lot of great ideas here. For one thing, OBAMA/BIDEN '08 is an excellent idea. A "biased" press would be interesting -- they could slant the facts by only interviewing minifigs who support a certain candidate (i.e. only interviewing the ones who have red pips on their stands). Stephen Colbert or Jon Stewart would make great Heroes for the Press.

I have a question. Which party is the evil one?

Because here, everything is simple. You vote for the middle-aged white man and hope that he only screws himself over a little bit. Then, come next election, you either vote for him again because he was moderately successful, or vote for the other guy because he was really, really crappy.
