Nah, I thought each book cheapened the universe a little bit more. By the sixth one I didn't even like Dune anymore.

Yeah, I agree. It's a great story and well written.. no doubt. However it just seemed like it was a documentary about Dune. Even the exciting, action, parts read like a reported account... I didn't feel like I was there; immersed in it.
