Overview of current forces.

The Knights of the Black Dragon (Black Knights for short) are the largest kingdom on a small planet drifting on the fringes of the Brikverse. Having had no outside contact, the inhabitants are blissfully unaware of the mayhem and general confusion that surrounds them. The Black Knights were ruled by the Black Monarch, but with his death at the hands of the Undead, his young son, the White Prince, ascended to the throne. The White King finished what his father started, and hunted down the remaining Undead forces to near extinction. (Or so it appeared) With peace having been re-established, he set about ruling his vast kingdom.

History of the Black Knights

The true origins of the Black Knights have been lost to history, but what we do know is that they fought a long and bloody war against the Orks, known as the Ork Wars. The war started when a massive Orkish invasion fleet sailed up and began sieging ports owned by the Golden Lions, also known by the other kingdoms as the Crusaders. Their army was swiftly decimated by the Orks, and the kingdom was fractured and destroyed. At the time the other human kingdoms received word of what was happening, and they quickly summoned their armies and struck up an alliance with the Elves. Thus the Ork Wars began in earnest. During this time, the Black Falcons were heralded for their courageousness and tenacity with which they fought the Orks. They were a constant thorn in the Ork's side. Finally, the Orks had had enough, and they gathered a massive army to annihilate the Black Falcons. They were finally defeated, but not before they had crippled the Black Falcons and slain their king. Upon hearing of this, the Black Knights realized the Orks had been severely weakened, so they organized a major offensive against them, and finally vanquished them once and for all at the Battle of the Triple Alliance, where a combined army of men, dwarves and elves slaughtered the Orks. Afterwards, the Black Knights offered refuge to the Black Falcon survivors, which they excepted. This is why even today, men wearing Black Falcon coats of arms fight under the Black Knight's banner.

Two centuries later, an advisor to the current King (the Black Monarch) became corrupted by dark magik, eventually plotting to overthrow the King. Thankfully, the King discovered the scheme and had the advisor banished. Declaring himself the Dark Lord Malum, the advisor raised up an army of Undead to take the throne by force. The Black Monarch summoned his armies, and waged war against his former ally for half a decade. Eventually, the advisor was defeated, and his armies destroyed, at the Battle of the Twin Peaks. Sadly, during the battle, the Black Monarch was slain by his former friend.

The Dark Lord's Return

A decade after the Battle of the Twin Peaks, the White King received word that the Undead were once again regaining their strength and bolstering their numbers. Initially skeptical, he ordered one of his trusted knights, Sir John Lannister, to investigate the rumors. Sir John confirmed that the rumors were true, and the Black Knights again prepared for war.

Shortly thereafter, while Sir John was still investigating, a large Undead army, a contingent of Uruk-hai, and a force of Bull Knights led by Cedric sieged the Dunlan Fortress. The defenders fought bravely, and with the help of an archer known as Lillian Windstrider and Sir John himself, the Undead were defeated.
