Opener on Vígríðr Prime Round Five

Turn 5

The Ironsights move up into the intersection and unleash hell on the Brootalz. Two Gunnerz are instantly slain under the onslaught on incoming fire. The Ironsight who lags behind manages to score a direct hit on the Grunt firing wildly in the intersection and flings him to the ground, dead as a doornail. The final Ironsight misses due to range and cuts down a lamppost instead.

“Throw the shield to me!” Valbrand roars over comms, his helmet HUD having kept him apprised of situations abroad in the battlefield. The sprinter snatches the shield up and gives it a mighty heave. Sadly, it doesn’t make it all the way to Valbrand, who was clearly braced to do something clever with it (feat failed). However, due to the sheer strength of the dwarf tossing it, it makes it most of the way there.

Valbrand abandons his plan and moves under cover while the final Einherjar moves into the middle of the street and opens fire on the last remaining Grunt. Unfortunately for him, the shot bounces off the ork’s light armor and accomplishes little other than getting the beast’s blood up.

The monster leaps down from its perch and attacks one of the Ironsights. It is unable to penetrate the dwarf’s defenses however and the two remain locked in mortal combat.

The Gunnerz strike back, giving almost as good as they got, moving up, and mowing down two Ironsights. The two squads appear evenly matched.

ShoGunn draws Valbrand into the BATTLEFIELD OF THE MIND. There, they each contemplate a thousand ways to kill one another in the space of only a few real world seconds. A thousand thousand thrusts, slices, and parries are exchanged as each seeks dominance over the other. How to win? How to best this opponent?

They fly at each other Wuxia style, clashing together, for the first time, for the last time. At the last possible moment, Valbrand realizes it’s a trap! He’s in lost in his own thoughts while his body is vulnerable! He snaps out of it.

But it is too late (Feat successful). He cannot withstand the punishment of ShoGunn’s Chaingun. Multiple shots pummel him from the doorway and out into the street. JordfødtHammarr slips from his grip as he stumbles, falls to his back with his armor weighing him down, and eventually lies still. So passes Valbrand son of Sigbjørn.
