So if you get that from Steam, and you are using Win7

6. you need to find the exe file and set compatibility mode to Vista sp2 to get it to run.

7. put a microphone into the sound card jack to hear any sound in game, yes its stupid but thats the fix.

That will save you 1.5 hours of poking around for answers.

The sound isn't windows 7 compatible? Gee, someone ought to have told me that before I beat the game and thought I heard sound the whole time!

Win 7 64 bit

Thats the fix IF you have the problem.
Of course I expected no problems at all, but...

Ihave win 7 home 64 bit and have not had a single issue with audio in Bioshock. Maybe having beats audio has something to do with that?

It was definitely an audio driver issue. The other fix was to install an OpenAL driver.

I combined two different suggestions and avoided installing the driver.

I'm using on board audio on my Dell Studio 9000 XPS. Works fine usually.
All my older machines I got a SoundBlaster card, but on board is improved these days. One less slot used up.

Maybe Beats came with that driver. Do you always have a mic hooked up?
If yes try unplugging it and start the game. The menu has sound, but in game, no sound.

Seriously, watch this, it looks amazing. Perhaps it isn't your cup of tea- but fighting your way through open anarchy on a floating city ruled by the twisted mind of a corrupted american system, while the real world lies a rift away? This looks damn amazing.

Agreed. Infinite's gameplay looks insane. Especially after the enclosed hallways and rooms of Rapture, something so massively open ended looks maddening.
