OTHER BRICK WARGAMES
November 23rd, 2002 - Two New Games

Links to two new brick games are up on the Other Brick Wargames page.

The first, by Vincent Baker of Lumpley Games, is "MechaTon."  This small-tactics mech wargame is both awesome and easy-to-learn, achieving an awesomeness-to-complexity efficiency rating that BrikWars could never hope to match.  (Another game on the Lumpley site is "kill puppies for satan," which has nothing to do with bricks or wargames but is otherwise brilliant.)

The second game is Matt Hein's "DraKen," which appears to be some kind of castle-based role-playing game.

November 7th, 2002 - Shaun is a Traitor

Shaun Sullivan's repeated sabotage of NELUG's SuperHeroes game has led many to question his loyalties.  He claims to have nothing but schedule conflicts, although they didn't stop him from assembling, staging, and running a BrikWars battle of his own for Halloween (as well as reading the entire 6-volume history of WWII by Winston Churchill).  Pictures from his frightening H.P. Lovecraft-themed BrikWars battle are up in his BrickShelf gallery.

BrikWars is in the offing at AdeLUG's #5 on Sunday, it's just been announced.  Since AdeLUG is in Australia and Shaun is in Boston, it remains to be seen whether he can extend his evil influence far enough to disrupt their event as well.

October 11th, 2002 - Site Update

Aaron Sneary's BrikWars Scenarios got a link on the Brick Wargames page.  How did it take us so long to put that there?

The Frequently Asked Questions page is up with a couple of entries, although we plan to add more later.  Mostly we're just proud of the funny little illustrations.

October 4th, 2002 - Site Redesign

Once again the site's gotten a total face-lift with a couple of nifty new features, including the Featured Link box to the right and the Featured Creation box at the bottom of the page.  Unfortunately, while we have lots of good pictures of BrikWars creations, we don't have stats for more than a couple of them.  Do you have a pretty-looking construction you'd like to see in the Featured Creation box?  If so, e-mail us with its name, stats, and an URL where we can find pictures of it (no file attachments please!).

September 9th, 2002 - The Ultimate LEGO® Vehicle Contest

All right, so technically it's not a wargame (except possibly for the last event).  It's still cool.  Notorious Internet celebrity The Reverend Brendan Powell Smith has documented the hilarity and destruction of his annual The Ultimate LEGO® Vehicle Contest.

August 17th, 2002 - Starship RPG Begins

Andrew Engstrom and Dan Mattia's bold attempt to combine brick gaming and play-by-email roleplaying launches today, and we're all watching with rapt fascination to see whether it can be pulled off.  All the players are assembled and all the ships have been built; today the Starship crews embark on their quest for ultimate knowledge and the mysterious Artifact of Spraw in this enterprising play-by-email space exploration game.

August 11th, 2002 - NELUG's Quest For the Alien, Part II

Coalition and Faction troops return to the derelict Research Vessel 0.937 in an attempt to track down and capture the deadly alien lifeforms hidden therein.  Sadly, they were no match for the wily bartender droid and his irresistible beer.

August 11th, 2002 - Studfest XV

The Studs headed to Mittagong and staged a "BrikWars of truly biblical proportions," with the intention of setting the world's record for Biggest Medieval BrikWars Battle Ever Staged, despite already holding all previous records in that category.  The game was in fact truly enormous, and we're eagerly hoping for a write-up.  In the meantime, however, there's lots of pictures to gape at.

August 10th, 2002 - Fleet Command 3.0

Fleet Command is a brick spacefleet combat game by Zac Soden, set in his Battlespace universe, and version 3.0 marks a major new update.  Unlike most of the brick games on the web, Fleet Command seems to be set up to make a profit somehow - can it be done?  We'll have to wait and see.

NELUG's Invasion of Coalition Research Vessel 0.937

The Factions take on the Coalition in a race to track down a high-tech Ugly Hat and some porn, in a derelict research vessel in which the development of a new biological superweapon has gone horribly, hilariously wrong.

Medieval mayhem!
Little Armory
Little Armory Toys Inc.
One of the earliest guys to make custom-molded minifig weapons available to the general public, Jeff Byrd's awesome set of space weapons met with immediate popular acclaim. The chrome edition of the original Space Weapons set is still available, and he's followed up with a set of medieval weapons, armor, and a scabbard compatible both with his own sword and, coincidentally, with the Lego broadsword.

Formerly found at LittleArmory.com, the new storefront for Little Armory has moved to Sith35's Toy Box over on BrickLink.com. Don't be fooled by imitators!
